The group, Friends of Festival Country K9s, is spearheading multiple upcoming events to benefit the community. They are coordinating pet adoptions with all the local animal shelters, offering discounted micro-chipping for pets, discounted dog agility classes, and dog obedience classes for puppies and adult dogs. ![]() ![]() To reserve your time, contact Kim Ritz at 435-590-9968 or email her at ffck9s.treasurer@outlook.com. Reservations are highly recommended due to micro-chips being sold out at the last event. Director of Education, Gail Workman, will begin dog obedience training classes on Wednesday, April 19th. This first class is a 2 hour seminar WITHOUT dogs. Proof of vaccination and payment will be required at this time. The remaining 7 weeks will be training with dogs. Gail’s class size will be limited to 10 dogs per class. You can choose from two different times for Beginning Obedience Classes. They will be held the following 7 weeks every Wednesday, April 26th from 11am to 12pm or on Thursday, April 27th from 6pm to 7pm Puppy Class is for dogs aged 4 months to 7 months and they will be held for 7 weeks beginning on Wednesday, April 26th from 6pm to 7pm. **All 3 of these class times require you attend the seminar on the first week or make arrangements with Gail Workman directly. Classes are $100 and include membership to Friends of Festival Country K9s. Membership offers benefits such as discounted micro-chips, discounted classes (obedience, agility, flyball, rally & more) and free re-take of classes for the same dog/same handler within the membership year. Member price for obedience classes are $70. Lessons will be located at Gail Workman’s Dog Training Made Easy. Classes will run for 7 weeks and the cost is $50.00 which includes a one year membership. Members cost is just $20 and $10 for each additional dog. All agility classes will be held at D&B’s Dog House 4891 West 1000 South, Cedar City. **All dogs must have proof of vaccination and payment must be made at the first class without dogs on April 20th. Basic obedience is required for dogs doing agility.
