In contrast to House Bill 210 that would allow feral felines (and other feral animals) to be shot on sight, State Senator Dennis E. Stowell (R-Parowan) is working with Best Friends Animal Society to introduce House Bill 57. This bill would introduce an effective and humane way to deal with the feral cat issue.
The concept is very basic; Trap - Neuter/Spay - Return.
It is a humane and cost effective way to deal with the feral cat situation. It will save thousands of lives as well as reduce the cost to the community. In essence, the cats will be trapped then spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear tagged and returned.
Thank you Senator Stowell, for sponsoring this humane bill that can save thousands of animals in our community.
