PARKS IN AND AROUND CEDAR CITY

Discovery Park

Cedar Breaks National Monument is located 23 miles east of Cedar City, along Highway 148 between Highway 14 and Brian Head. Resting on top of the Colorado plateau, at over 10,000 feet in elevation, this breathtaking view awaits. Millions of years of sedimentation, uplift, and erosion are carving out this giant amphitheater, that spans some three miles, and is more than 2000 feet deep.

Bryce Canyon National Park is approximately 80 miles from Cedar City.  Cedar Breaks National Monument is on the way.  Take I-15 north to exit 59. Go east on 200 North, then south on Main Street to Center Street/UT-14. Travel east on UT-14 to US-89. Go north on US-89 to UT-12. Follow UT-12 east to UT-63. Take UT-63 south to Bryce Canyon National Park. The visitor center sits 1 mile inside the park boundary. This is a very scenic route during the summer months and early fall.

Zion's Kolob Canyons is approximately 19 miles south of Cedar City.  Take I-15 south to Exit #40/Kolob Canyons/Zion National Park.  Left under freeway to entrance on your right.

Zion National Park is approximately 61 miles from Cedar City.  Take I-15 south to Exit #27/Toquerville/Hurricane (31 miles).  Turn left on UT-17 (6.1 miles) and Left on UT-9(6.3 miles), turn left on Kolob Road (go 15 miles) and arrive at Zion National Park.
